K2 Cool Bean 144 2018
A new way to look at the mountain
The Cool Bean is entirely different than you average snowboard, it is constructed with a philosophy that a different shape can expand the way you look at your riding and the terrain, adding new depth to your snowboarding journey. The width and shape of the Cool Bean offer unlimited laydown room when carving groomers and a surfy float and glide in the powder. This board looks weird and so will you when you can’t wipe the smile off your face once you try it because it could give you the most fun you’ve had on a snowboard in a long time.
For creative riders that want to experience a whole new way to look at the terrain. The board offers an enormous float in the powder and a fast maneuverability on the slopes.
Directional is the classic snowboard shape, designed to be ridden with a slightly longer nose than tail to concentrate pop in the tail while still giving you plenty of float, flow, and control to rip any terrain or condition. A tapered shape means the nose is wider than the tail, promoting smooth turn entry and exit, stability at speed, and enhanced deep snow flotation. The greater amount of volume in front of you will allow for effortless turning in deep or soft snow and increase the float of your board tremendously. The Swallow Tail is tuned for powder glide and groomer carves.
A Directional Rocker Baseline™, so just a flat camber profile between the feet means stability, better balance, and continuous edge control. The tip and tail kick up with an early rise outside the feet for the catch-free, loose feeling you’d expect from rocker. This allows for effortless turns on hardpack but also provides ample float in softer snow and crud. Tweekend™ is a revolutionary tweak to the ends of the baseline. By extending the Baseline all the way out to the absolute ends of the board, new ride-able surface is unlocked, giving you a bigger, more stable platform to press, float and land on.
At the Volume Shift™ design, K2 is shifting the volume around your feet, so the board glides and interacts with the snow in brand new ways. Hybritech™ is the most efficient way to make a snowboard without sacrificing one ounce of performance. Featuring sidewalls along the running surface and an extended wood core all the way to the tip of the board. The sintered base is fast, durable and easy to repair. At the BAP core, three renewable types of wood are assembled to optimise strength, reduce weight, and enhance dampening without the addition of other materials.
Biax Fibreglass features a jib-friendly, torsionally soft flex and forgiving, park-friendly feel.
Sintered: hard and fast, but a little higher maintenance, the best choice for powder
Premium: highest quality and speed with carbon/graphite additives
